Afternoon all ,
Some nifty moves on show this week in more ways than one ! Kicking off with Boris and never mind the Harlem one, he ( thankfully ! ) carried out a full - on Cabinet re-shuffle last week which saw the buffoon that was Williamson finally binned , and the lazy control-freak that is Raab also demoted (probably due to spending too much time on a sun lounger ! Talk about career-defining decisions …. He is the Gaffer’s resident MP believe it or not !!! He ‘s delighted . The locals hated him . )
Then Saturday saw the launch of the annual Christmas countdown that is Stricly Come Dancing, featuring a higher than average proportion of Z Listers this year who will be trotting out the tango prior to Panto season! And two dancers who feel that they don’t have to take the vaccination jab . The Gaffer stands ready to dust off his 2015 xmas party cuban heels if there are any drop outs …..
Then finally the world bid farewell to Jimmy Greaves, purveyor of some fine moves himself back in the day. < Gaffer ; a disgrace that he was never Knighted >
Back to business then and over on the mortgage side of the business you completed an equally very nifty £34,509,659 of lending across 110 cases. Marvellous moves , indeed.
Top of the scoreboard was Will Avrili with £3,758,481 of lending across 7 cases followed by Tom Sibley with £2,517,846 across 3 cases and back- in -form ahead of the NL Derby this Sunday , Spencer Havers with £2,104,600 across 4 cases.
Tom Sibley also secured this weeks “Big Time Barry” Award for his £1,780,000 deal with Barclay’s/Woolwich and the following all got a perfect 10 for their achievement this week in terms of high case volume and value – Paul Oglesby, Steve Hankins, Nick Harris, Mark Tiley, Ron Walton, Raff Federico and Laura Sayers.
On the lender side you completed the greatest number of cases this week jointly with Santander and Halifax totalling 14 each for £5,162,243 and £3,646,682 respectively.
Protection – Week 37

You were definitley right back in favour with the judges on the Protection side of the business this week with an astonishing 48 deals completed of which Nick Price completed 32 (!!!!!!! ) and Sophie Evans 10 .
Phil Lyle secured the highest policy amount this week for £750,000 with Royal London and on the provider side you completed the greatest number of deals overall with AIG totalling 11.
Birthday’s and other Parish Notices
Many Happy Returns to Ian Broadrick who will be celebrating on the 26th and then for the day after on the 27th to Zoe O’Hara .
Management Notices

Phew. What a scorcher up here in Darbados yesterday…… 23 degrees. Hotter than the diving Ronaldo’s scoring streak …. Or the Alan Mudd and Bill Avrili money – printing presses right now ! Ker-ching…….
A few parish notices;
1. Well Done on the Zoom attendances. Please see these through and try not to fatigue. The lenders are doing their best to keep them concise.
2. Our thanks to Ian Broadrick & Mike Atkinson who have been helpful in hopefully getting two more big hitting brokers on board from a rival. That’s now a total of 16 new starters since Feb, and there are 4 more in a holding pattern.
3. Martin is taking a well earned week away next week so Friday the 1st October will feature lump sum/rounded payments made from Cornwall.
4. On the subject of Martin, he is presently tidying up our various debtor ledgers for our year end audit. He may be contacting some of you on certain commercial and/or bridging cases where we just need an update on the status of the application and whether it is going ahead etc. There are only about a dozen of these but if you could let him know it would be appreciated.
5. Marbs; the final final closing date is now upon us ( just as the PCR requirements are thankfully easing ). The rooming arrangements also just need your final confirmation and these will be sent out shortly.
6. If you haven’t seen them already, please check out some photos of many of you from our recent London Conference. These can be viewed within the digital edition of this month’s Mortgage Introducer Magazine.
7. And Finally …
Some of you are busy , others aren’t . But try not to measure yourselves too frequently against others , or indeed the wider market activity . Every hour , day , week , month , quarter in this business is different and almost beyond predictability . Sometimes , the phone will ring with that bumper referral when you least expect it . It’s not unlike the world of Pep Guardiola at Oilchester Citey , is it ?? ; ie
You miss out on Messi
You miss out on Ronaldo
You miss out on Harry Kane ……. Actually ; hang on a minute , Duff £150m squid never looked worse value , but I dare say that come Sunday , Mortgageforce’s best supported team ( there are amazingly 12 of you Spursies out there now !!! ) will be sending me pay-back texts !
It could be worse , you could be Emmanual Macron , crying in his soup over submarine deals , domestic civil strife , Brexit ( still ! ) and a pending election which might see him outted ?! Politics and Football ….. a mugs game , both .
We’ll be seeing you ….
