The week that was 7th June

WOW …Where has 2022 gone?

For today marks the midsummer solstice, temperatures are on the up and with Wimbledon just around the corner, Summer is really finally here guys 😊😊 - along with that other summer stalwart that is the Glastonbury festival (although instead of “those” toilets being the main downside this year, the focus will be on actually getting there in the first place for many as today sees the start of the train strike) .

Once there however, you will be able to bop along in your “Hunter Wellies” to some of the more Saga-themed headline acts this year including Diana Ross and Paul McCartney along with Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar. Hopefully this “warm up” act, will get everybody well in the mood for the main event that is Ukraine Aid which is taking place next week! (please let Michelle B know by Friday the latest this week if you are coming or not )

Then surely doing some bopping of his own will be HRH Prince William who celebrates reaching the 40 milestone today – let’s hope Harry and Meghan remembered to place their order with Moon Pig in time!!!! 😊

And amid the rail strikes and folks jetting away on hols etc, you still managed to keep our own wheels turning very nicely in Week 23 when you secured £32,770,816 of lending across 103 deals. Pretty impressive stuff.

MORTGAGEFORCE HEADLINES

Top of the bill this week (once again!) was Nick Harris who secured £4,539,033of lending across 5 cases, his £2,809,990 deal with Santander also winning him this week’s “Big Time Barry” award. Nick is presently edging ahead in the race to be the NO 1 this year and on one day alone last week he completed on almost £40,000 of business . He made Kat Waller at RBC very happy on one gin-tastic case 😊 .

Nick was then followed by our resident Ron-Father, Ron Walton with £4,405,870 of lending across 7 deals and Zak Abdul Karim with £2,032,125of lending across 8 cases.

Other talent worthy of headlining the Pyramid Stage this week in terms of case volume and value were Ricki Wenn, Steve Hankins, Neil Gould, Sean McGeough, Eva Alonso, Michelle Claude and James Holdsworth (LOOKING EVERY INCH THE STYLISH DAVID GHANDI ABOVE! 😊 . CONGRATS JAMES . GOOD TO SEE SOME COMPETITION FOR SPENCER AT LAST …SEE BELOW!) .

On the lender side you completed the greatest number of deals this week with NatWest totalling 23 for £4,810,380 of lending.

Protection – Week 23

Things were also looking brighter on the Protection side of the business with 18 deals completed this week of which reigning headline act Nick Price secured 10 and Sophie Evans, 3.

Nick also secured the highest policy amount this week for £360,000 with AIG and on the provider side you completed the greatest number of deals overall with AIG totalling 6.

Club Notices For Members

Please note that the Gaffer is away from tomorrow for a week, and will be uncontactable, so today is the last chance to grab him for anything that you need as he is not going to be around now until next Tuesday pm and even then he is going to be pretty occupied with Ukraine Aid.

In the week after that though he will then commence three straight weeks on the bounce in the Derby and London offices and he is looking forward to things getting back to normal hopefully!

In the meantime it was good to see several of you in the past week, and amid a burgeoning summer of sport, it was important that we also closed off the footy season. And a key part of this in the West Midlands was of course fans of Wolverhampton Wanderers winning the Cup for being not only the best supported side in the Midlands but also for following the team that finished highest in the region. Ben Hancox lifted the relevant Cup in tribute to the Black and Golds and commented….…” With Villa losing their very capable number 2, and the Baggies’ for some reason keeping faith with Steve Bruce it looks like 2023 will be another comfortable year in our locality for the mighty Wolves.” (A sentiment shared by Roger Jones , and most of Spotlite as well).

Golf and tennis also dominated in recent days.

Gary Ince was no less than 10 inches away from nailing a hole in one ( … careful with that line, Kerry! 😊) and whilst several of the London crew had their applications to play at the Queens club declined, they did by all accounts still enjoy a gloriously sunny and much-hydrated day in Barons Court last Thursday in the company of designer sunglasses and copious glasses of English nyetimber (well done guys – supporting the British wine industry!! 😊) . It was also rumoured that Spencer spent almost £1000 on new clobber for the day and his budget for his Cannes wardrobe may exceed £5000 being the Love Island addict that he is!

Outwith all that, I know that Kevin would like to Thank all those who have already made a donation to Ukraine Aid. The generosity and kindness of folk really is humbling, and special thanks also to Simon Holdsworth and his associates and contacts who have played a critical and pivotal role thus far in helping to get everything aligned for next week. It promises to be an amazing event and I (Kerry) look forward to seeing some of you for the first time in almost 5 years! hic 😊

Have a great week all.
