Activity Charts – Week 19 ( 4th May to 10th May 2021)

Phewwww !!! …. what a week , with yesterday marking the latest step on the roadmap to freedom with ‘ Hugging , Hospitality and Holidays overseas ’ now all back on the menu with the lucky few jetting off yesterday to warmer climes !

Then prior to this it was Trophies all around with full on girl- power at this year’s rather different Brit Awards – giving award winners including Little Mix, Dua Lipa, Haim and Taylor Swift a good excuse to get glammed up for the night !

And we had a similarly different , but still engrossing to watch ( except if your surname was Avrili !? ☹ ) FA Cup Final which saw Leicester win via a genuine rocket-shot and without a nasty late VAR over-turn.

MORTGAGEFORCE

Collectively you were in fairly winning form on the mortgage side of the business with over £35,074,612 of lending completed this week across 114 cases.

On top of the podium was gold medallist Nick Harris with £2,635,320 of lending completed across 7 cases , with Sean McGeough taking the silver for his £1,887,544 across 4 cases and then James Newton with £1,828,753 across 5 cases.

This week’s Big Time Brodders ” Award went to well …… Ian of course , for his hefty £1,552,000 deal with Barclays/Woolwich - and we had some girl power of our own with case a dayer’s Heather Wall and Michelle Barraclough who made up a neat boy-girl band when joined by Ricki Wenn, Simon Holdsworth and Rhys Forrest.

On the lender side you completed the greatest number of cases once again with Santander totalling 16 for £4,899,301 of lending.

Protection – Week 19

In a week when Wales’ Alun Wyn Jones was appointed as British & Irish Lions Captain , things were equally meritorius over on the protection side of the business with a whopping 39 deals completed , and with Kevin Gronow completing 11 of these . KG was followed by Pete Chappell with 5 and Warren Middleton with 4 . Poor Warren and the other ‘ app ‘ammers such as Norms , The Power , and Berberry’s No2 are possibly in for a spursy week ahead as the Goons close in on their 7th place ?

And from the safety of her underground bunker over in Tel Aviv , Jo Zeff secured the highest policy amount this week with her £347,983 deal with Legal and General . On the provider side you also completed the greatest number of deals this week overall withLegal and General totalling 11.

Birthdays and other Parish Notices

Many Happy Returns to two of our lovely ladies as Adriana Rocha celebrates her Birthday today and Suzanne Bunting will be celebrating hers on the 20th. Feliz Cumpleanos , los dos …. hic …

Management Notices

We promised an update on the newbies this week but we now have a few more joining so we decided that it’s best to wait another 2 weeks and to showcase these folks all in one go .

But well done to Chris B for his exceptional work in making our Induction programme one of the slickest in the industry . Amid that work ( and also his RMAR returns ! ☹ ) , he will also be popping you all a note shortly on the importance of carefully checking the evidence around any mortgage applicants who have a ‘’ second job ‘’

This is an area of concern for the FCA and we will be running an 8 week Pilot just to

ensure that we are all the right side of the line so to speak.

THE MARKET / AUTUMN QUARTER .

Outwith that , the property market marches on . Especially in the provinces . London is possibly cooling .

Lenders are regularly trying to stay 3 to 6 months ahead of trends . So with the Purchase market possibly calming , it’s not surprising that the lenders whom we’ve spoken to lately are earmarking a Re-mortgaging frenzy from June through to October. This is partly underpinned by the fact that June , September and October feature record-breaking PT anniversaries.

To put this in context , your collective PT loan volumes in October will almost be the equivalent of virtually all of the business that you wrote in Feb ! Virtue of The Key etc , we won’t need to tell you how important it is to stay ahead of that ( as lenders may be contacting your clients even earlier ! ☹ ). But to that end we have already started work on the next Newsletter and this will be out ahead of the June anniversaries to trigger clients’ thoughts. Congrts again to all on a super Week 19.

p.s. Next week we will update you all on the final Football Fantasy League Standings ( where Stevie A has seemingly done a Citey and crushed all before him ! )
