Activity Charts – Week 23 (1st June – 7th June 2021)

Afternoon all ;
So…… no big surprise really re: Boris’s announcement yesterday confirming the 4 week delay to lifting restrictions, although this came after Mr Johnson had himself enjoyed a weekend of cream teas , beach barbecues , red arrows and a get together at the G7 summit which saw all manner of social distancing restrictions go well and truly out the window! One rule for them , eh… ? ☹
Then earlier on Saturday the world held a collective breath as we waited to see if poor Christian Erikson was okay after his dramatic collapse on the pitch in Copenhagen . Any of us watching it really did feel like Time had stood still. Thank God he was ok . And Sunday heralded the launch of the new “anti woke” news channel GB News which got off to a somewhat shaky start by all accounts and looked like something out of the early eighties !!!! But if it challenges some BBC bias ‘s and misreportings , it will be a good thing .
But finally we Brits got to find out what that round orange thing in the sky is as we all enjoyed another weekend of sunshine which topped the mid term break off nicely!
On that subject with so many of us out and about on staycations and mini breaks you still managed to whip up a bright and sunny £18,582,416 of lending this week.
Top of the charts was Sarju Rach with his dazzling £3,456,282 of lending across 2 cases, one of which also earnt him the “ Sarj has gone Large ” Award for Week 23 – a very nice £3,300,000 with the Hampshire Trust Bank. Well done Sarju.
Then this week’s Runner Up Laura Sayers secured £2,247,689 across 2 cases, which included the second highest loan amount this week of £1,817,495 with Accord.
Then in third place was Phil Lyle with £1,188,996 also across 2 cases.
In terms of case volumes this week, Superstars Paul Varney, Adriana Richa and Claire Hutchinson secured 3 cases each in spite of it being the holiday period.
On the lender side meanwhile you completed the greatest number of cases jointly this week with HSBC and Nationwide totalling 6 deals each for £1,539,648 and £1,166,400 of lending respectively.
Protection – Week 23

There was still a very positive outlook over on the protection side of the business with 25 deals completed in Week 23 of which Paul Varney secured 6 and Colette Hall, 5.
Mr Varney had an astounding week all round and probably threw in a few birdies and a hole in one at his 18th !?
Between them Colette and Paul also secured the two highest policy amounts of £1,035,999 with Royal London (Colette) and £380,000 with L&G (Paul).
Rhys Forrest continued his electric start to life at Mforce and his exploits were sadly not matched by his homeland . Our welsh cousins had a quieter week than normal but still chipped in with 5 cases.
On the provider side you completed the greatest number of deals this week with L&G totalling 11.
Birthdays and other Parish Notices
Many Happy Returns to Phil Lyle, who will be celebrating his birthday on the 17th and John Yates for the 21st. Heather also celebrated her birthday yesterday
Management Notices
With so many of you deservedly taking some downtime after what might now feel like a marathon 15 months of broking , Week 23 reflected that .
But there was still an excellent consistency to the numbers with 70% of brokers doing at least 1 deal. Clearly some of you brought your laptops to the seaside with you !
A couple of snippets for you ;
You will now have seen clear evidence that the lenders are sparking a re-mortgage frenzy , and this may indicate that they are starting to see their PURCHASE pipelines empty .
Indeed , Right Move have indicated that there are still 700,000 purchase deals seeking closure within the next 3 weeks and we would accord with this as we have about 1000 across your dashboards in that bracket .
The Newsletter is now complete . In a departure from last time’s protocol I think it’s a good idea if we pop this out to you all in advance ; have a looksie and tell us what you think
( responses back to Drew Wotherspoon please ). With the Lockdown extended , this will at least allow up to 40,000 of your mortgage borrowers to pause and assess the market etc .
Walter is taking some downtime this week , so please don’t be offended if his usually high response times are slightly affected
The Conference has a revised date of July 29th. Further details to follow .
Best wishes all ,
The Management Team
