The week that was 8th February

So from Dudley, to Eunice to Franklin….. how the winds did blow and our Northern friends also got a dolloping of the white stuff! Brrrrr. And not only did these three storms make multiple headlines but they also saw Youtuber Jerry from “BigJetTV” become an overnight media sensation as most of the country was gripped on Friday watching those planes land at Heathrow ( easy my son….. bosh!) whilst we sat inside avoiding flying trampolines!

And while we all clung onto the patio furniture, ex Royal Andy was still clinging on to Mummy’s apron strings to the tune of some £ 8 million (apparently)! Then yesterday Boris threw all caution to the wind by announcing the end of ALL covid restrictions this coming Thursday. And sales of beach holidays continue to rocket as the end is nigh for those PCR tests!

So over to the mortgage side of the business where just like those super skilled pilots at Heathrow you touched down this week with a very smooth £37,895,563 of business across 121 deals.

Captain Ron Walton was on top of the charts this week with £2,402,749 of lending across 5 deals, followed by able first officers Mark Nathan with £2,155,806 across 3 deals and Sarju Rach with £1,931,623 across 4 deals.

Mark also tied with Rachel Vernile as the winner’s of this week’s “Big Time Barry / Bertha “ Award as they each completed a £1,700,999 deal with HSBC Intermediaries. Well done both of you.

Then blazing in this week in terms of their high value/volume loan sizes were Martin Whitehouse, Adriana Rocha, Spencer Havers, David Scotland, Chris Taylor, Laura Sayers and Kamlesh Jetha.

On the lender front you completed the greatest number of deals this week with Santander totalling 22 for £5,839,947 of lending.

Protection – Week 6

The engines were also on full throttle over on the protection side of the business this week with 39 deals completed of which Nick Price secured 9 and Sophie Evans, 8.

Jo Zeff secured the highest policy amount this week of £550,000 with L&G and on the provider side you completed the greatest number of deals overall with LV totalling 9.

Birthday’s and other Parish Notices

Many Happy Returns to Colette Hall who will be celebrating her Birthday tomorrow and to Russell Davies on the 26th.

Management Notices

It most definitely has been a week for planes , trains & automobiles this week as I end the week in Edinburgh having started it in Cardiff .

Lest we forget , the 🌻 Welsh are still the reigning 6 Nations Champions & if the exploits of John Lugsdin & his team at CFF are anything to go by then they won't be giving up the title easily . 🏆🏉

Before we come to the Welsh visit however, as most of you know these weekly reports are compiled and composed one week in arrears . Very occasionally we hear of exceptional things either on completed cases or on applications in the previous week (which would normally drop into the following week’s report.) Suffice to say, we had one this morning wherein Ian Broadrick and Anne Croney screened an astonishing 22 cases for almost £7 million of lending . Needless to say, Ian has gone for a lie down and Annie is simply cracking on with what she does really well - Congratulations both.

Back to the Welsh visit …..

Sam Jones

The best news this week was seeing a fit & healthy Sam back in the Cardiff office . She looked fantastic folks , & she now handles Mortgageforce EXCLUSIVELY ! 👏

She is looking forward to chatting with you all once more & she will shortly be setting in motion a fortnighly Zoom call clinic on a Tuesday or Thursday morning. These will just be for 20 minutes, but feel free to get involved.

Sophie Evans

The other Queen of Tiger Bay down there is of course Sophie Evans .

Some of you may already have solid arrangements for Life referrals. But if not , please give Sophie a try . She gets bundles of fantastic testimonials every month , and below is just one which validates just how professional & knowledgeable she is ... 👏
