The Week That Was

Activity Charts – Week 18 ( 27th April to 3rd May 2021)

Well… a real mixed bag in the news this last week what with Meghan aiming to be queen of fiction (nothing new there, !!!!!!) with her newly released children's book on father/child relationships (hhmm!!!!!); also, the traffic light system is back in force as far as foreign travel is concerned and it was a stressful weekend here in Darbados as the Rams narrowly avoided heading back to (almost) grass roots football as they saw off poor Michelle’s Sheffield Wednesday much to Mr Rooney’s relief; and finally….. it’s the day when we will get to hear if hugging our friends and loved ones is back on the agenda from next Monday (fingers crossed).

No hugging as yet but over to some very cuddly results over on the mortgage side of the business this week where you completed £31,118,065 worth of lending across 116 cases.

Competition was fierce at the top this week with Simon Holdsworth dominating the broker charts in first place with £3,067,330 of lending across 2 cases which also won him the “ Large Loan Larry ” Award for the cases of £1,855,330 and £1,212,000 with Barclays/Woolwich and Masthaven respectively.

Then runners- up this week on the charts were Ian Broadrick with £2,902,471 across 7 cases and Ron Walton with £1,966,843 across 5 cases. Ron and his ladies are on a fine run ….

Larging it on the case number front were Will Avrili (7) Alex Cast and Paul Oglesby with (6) and Ajay Sharma, Zak Abdul Karim, Laura Mitchell, William McGoldrick and Adriana Rocha all completed 5 cases each. Zak has Tuesday off this week , so we may only get 5 cases from him in Week 19 . what a machine he is …. (and well done Carrie x !!!)

On the lender front you secured the greatest number of cases this week with Santander totalling 18 for £5,450,163 of lending.

Protection – Week 18

On the Life side, I think that the Gaffer may well want to hug all of those who contributed to this weeks’ fantastic total of 41 cases! 15 of which were completed by Kevin Gronow with 5 from Zoe O’Hara.

William McGoldrick secured the highest policy amount of £540,000 with Aviva and on the provider side you completed the greatest number of cases this week with L&G totalling 12.

Birthday’s and other Parish Notices

Many Happy returns to Zak Abdul Karim who will be celebrating on the 16th.

Management Notices

Well Done all on a smashing week.

Three weeks ago some of you were expressing concern about what was a potential lull in the market. Well it didn’t last long…!

What we are seeing as a driver right now is that many folk who couldn’t get a loan last year when the pandemic was at its height, are now thankfully being considered by lenders.

We are also seeing lenders take very positive positions regarding the UK property market (remember, they have a surplus of £240 BILLION presently sat in their clients’ current accounts and lending this money out at rates of 2 to 3% actually makes them plenty of profit margin!).

Finally , my thanks to the very hospitable team at MF Wales who extended me a very typical welsh welcome last week. Amid what was a busy and record week for the business down there in Swansea. The sun shone too and John Lugsdin managed to qualify for the Mortgageforce Masters Event at The Belfry later in the year, joining the already-qualified Nick Harris, Ian Broadrick, Mike Atkinson and Paul Varney.

This week it’s the turn of the West Midlands‘ two foremost pesky bleaders and we’ll see which of Neil and Ben has the cojones required to make the cut 😊

Super work, all.

Next week we will have an update on 3 new starters also.

The Management Team.
