My Oh My ….. , It’s been a week of “Sex and Drugs and Rock n Roll” (and that’s just in the courtroom at the Johnny Depp /Amber “Turd” trial)! Aside from that though we’ve had porn in the Commons, new owner of Twitter Elon Musk threatening to put the cocaine back into Coco Cola in a recent tweet and news that Ed Sheeran will be headlining the Queen’s Jubilee concert! < The Gaffer has asked me to affirm to all that absolutely no pornography is being viewed or produced in the Head Office during working hours > ☹😊
All this tatt, and then our vainglorious and insecure Celebs are well and truly making up for having had a lack of red carpets to parade on during the last couple of years as they once again had the opportunity to dress up in some weird and wonderful outfits at this year’s Met Galal!
Back to more wholesome ground after all the debauchery above; and in spite of many of you still being away on Easter vacation Week 16 saw a marked return to form with 96 deals completed across £25,596,279.
On top of the charts in Week 16 was the supplier of many a bacchanalian shindig, Paul Oglesby who completed £2,747,688 of lending across a truly whopping 17 deals !!! Never under-estimate the power of the Irish!!. Paul was followed by puritan Nick Harris with £1,917,137 across 5 deals and the ever so lovely and definitely untainted 007 designate that is nice Mike Atkinson with £1,691,785 of lending across 3 deals.
Ian Broadrick takes this week’s aptly named “Big Time Brodders“ Award for his £1,629,823 deal with MT Finance and other Met Ball worthy candidates this week in terms of case values and volumes were the fast-starting Alan Hannigan, Zak Abdul Karim, Eva Alonso, Rhys Forrest, Adriana Rocha and Heather Wall. You folks will get to meet our new Scottish tyro’s, Alan and Gemma soon; We have the scheduled opening of our new Scotland office set for next week.
On the lender side you completed the greatest number of deals this week with Kent Reliance totalling 17 for £3,356,488 of lending. Methinks that this may have had something to do with Paulie O’s achievements above? Good old KRBS ….rarely beaten on flexibility 😊
Protection – Week 16

A steady week over on the Protection side of the business with 23 deals completed of which Nick Price secured 10 deals, Sophie Evans 4, and Raff Federico completed the highest policy amount of £688,000 with Royal London.
On the provider side you completed the greatest number of deals this week jointly with Royal London and AIG totalling 5 each.

Just a few snippets this week, as there are Broker get-togethers up-coming;
1. Our thanks to the ‘’Frenchies‘’ as we call them at HQ …our 4 colleagues based in Morzine and Chamonix ; They extended exceptional hospitality to the Gaffer on his visit last week and he will shortly be popping out a note to all which outlines the workings / permissions / caveats etc of working overseas as he knows that several of you have voiced an interest in doing such in the months and years ahead. Morzine has also been identified as a possible Conference venue in 2023 😊
2. RMAR Returns; Just a polite ‘’heads-up‘’. This is Martin and Chris’ busy time of the year, helping with several of your FCA returns. Normal coverage will resume as soon as is possible. Thanks for your patience.
3. HSBC and Hali; there have been some senior personnel changes here lately which might actually work well for us; so we are delivering a SWOT analysis to each; some of you may get a request for some very honest feedback on them ; please can you respond asap! 😊
4. And finally ….. COYG’s; Could they even finish 3rd, or will they go all ‘’spursy‘’? … it’s squeeky bum time, for sure. Good luck to the Scousers tonight; though they shouldn’t really need any?
Have a great week all.
😊
