The Week That Was

Activity Charts – Week 14 (30th March to 5th April 2021)

Afternoon all,

This last week has been one of tributes , accolades and awards, dominated first and foremost by the sad news of Prince Philip’s passing with the Nation united in grief over this true one- off by all accounts who more than gave his years of service. The Gaffer actually met him once and the DOE took the pi** out of him….! So he must’ve been a great guy!

Then the BAFTAS ceremony this weekend saw Sir Anthony Hopkins and Frances McDormand awarded for Best leading Actor and Actress although Sir Anthony missed his virtual acceptance speech as we was otherwise engaged doing a spot of painting! Luvvies eh!

Then finally a shout- out to all those maintaining the social distancing rules on the first day of lockdown easing out in Soho last night – see you all in Lockdown 256 coming to your household sometime soon!!

Enough . Over to our own Leading Men and Ladies then who in spite of it being the first major holiday period of the year were still up and at it managing to complete £13,770,058 of lending. .

Our very own Marlon Brando Impersonato, Ron Walton topped the charts with £1,608,475 of lending across 3 cases followed by “Best Supporting Brokers” in Chris Taylor with £1,279,499 across 2 cases, Zak Abdul Karim with £1,026,959 across 6 cases and Alex Cast with £1,010, 057 across 3 cases. Chris also secured the “Lawrence Olivier Large One” Award this week for his £950,000 deal with Barclays/Woolwich. (I hope it’s going better than other Barclays cases at the moment Chris?) 😊

Then still busy working up a case a day were Rhys Forrest, Jo Zeff and William McGoldrick.

On the lender side you secured the greatest number of deals this week with NatWest totalling 11 for £2,926,452 of lending.

Protection – Week 14

Nice to see that things were still very buoyant over on the Protection side of the business this week with 23 deals completed of which Warren Middleton secured 4, followed by Jo Zeff, Kevin Gronow and Jaime Lines all with 3 deals each in the bag.

Warren and our other‘ ammers will hope that their team doesn’t go all ‘spursy‘ and blow their Top 4 prospects. West ‘aaaam actually have a quite a decent pedigree in Europe, but will want to avoid any Belgian sides , especially Anderlecht! ☹

Jo Zeff secured the highest policy amount this week for £615,695 with Legal and General and on the provider side you completed the greatest number of cases overall this week also with Legal and General totalling 9.

Birthday’s and other Parish Notices

Many Happy Returns this week go to the black-leathered Pete Chappell who will be taking a break from writing protection policies to celebrate his Birthday on the 15th. Look out for a flotilla of Hells Angels on Harleys coming your way this week ! 😊

Management Notices

Not too much this week guys, especially as we’ll be seeing many of you F2F shortly. In fact just a solitary piece of validation & praise .

We have two more starters joining us from Stonebridge. They are leaving there partly due to the P.I. increases being inflicted upon them (unavoidable, but a factor) , but primarily due to years working with a Compliance Department at Stonebridge which their brokers now refer to as the Business Prevention Unit.

They described Chris and Suzanne’s approach as ‘’refreshingly helpful , fair , and proportionate‘’.

So well done to Chris and Suzanne. Their role isn’t easy as so often it can mean being prescriptive and corrective with folk . But they do this in a constructive and responsive fashion, and for that they deserve our respect. Well done both.

Have a great week and enjoy the pubs , hairdressers, tattoo parlours, tanning salons and nail bars! … And the same to the ladies. 😊

(P.S. Martin is taking a well deserved few days off, from Thursday, but he will be knocking out the run as usual).
