And just like that …. It’s back to school time ! And in a week when Hurricane Ida struck the Southern States, things were also shaken up here on home turf with Maccy D’s fans pining for their fix as it ran out of the 5 billion calorie milky drinks (blame it on Brexit!) but on a sweeter note Bennifer 2021 went public again as J Lo and her beau Ben Affleck are aiming for better luck this time around with yet another romantic break in the sun!

Talking of which, given that so many of you are seemingly still on Stay-cations or venturing even further afield to PCR lands ( Gaffer….’’ What a palaver in Spain sorting out the Conference … worrying every day about failing the covid test !! ) your figures in Week 34 were pretty summery too ! and you collectively nailed 93 mortgages and a scorching 34 Life cases .

MORTGAGES

Simon Holdsworth was the jumbo-loan merchant this week with a whopping £1.99m loan for a HNW client , bumping Nice Mike’s £1.3m case with NatWest in to second place . NatWest actually got 20% of your business , and in any other week Jimmy Neutron-Bomb’s £1.2m case with them might have been getting Gold as opposed to Bronze , but well done you three. And Alex Cast also nailed a £1mproduct transfer with BM Solutions , 1 of 5 impressive cases from him.

Activity -wise , Zak AK47 continued to boss matters with 8 cases , followed by Heather Wall with 6 , Sean McGeough with 5 and fellow-spursyite Paul Varney with 4 .

< Gaffer ; ‘’ If you haven’t heard yet , Spursy are top of the league and the flailing Gunners are bottom …. But Arteta wants us to keep believing in the ‘’ project ‘’ > … It’s anyone’s guess as to who will be OUTED first , Arteta or that slippery weasel , Prince Andrew !

Lender wise , NatWest and Santander did almost 30% of your cases ! And your PT’s accounted for over 20% of their total ( see below re Barclays !! )

LIFE

Congratulations once again to Nick Price who was top dog with 10 , and for once the English gave the Welsh a run for their money with Jo Zeff and Neil Gould writing 5 and 4 cases respectively .

Management Notices

A ) I don’t know about the Summer Of Love , but this has definitely been the Summer Of Recruitment for the business at large with no fewer than 14 having now joined since May . A few notes on our 4 latest & very welcome joinees pictured above ;

  1. Becky ; She passed Cemap 1,2,and 3 in just 4 weeks and is looking forward to passing William and Nick with her forehand winners in Marbs !

  2. Martin ; an experienced practitioner based in France ( and our thanks to Colette for the introduction ) . A Baggie to keep Ruth company

  3. Rachel ; will need no introduction to many of you . HSBC’S loss is our gain . She won’t be the last Bank employee to join us this year.

  4. Lorraine ; the pocket-rocket Jennifer Aniston lookie-likie joins from WBBS where she was a multi-award winning branch manager . She has a charming tale to tell re her last day at Willnecote Primary , featuring eggs !

So . A really warm Welcome to all of these 4 and I’m confident that come this time next year , all 4 of them will be competing for our own awards .

B ) On the footie front , and specifically your FFL entries , it’s Brodders who has shaded out James Cosgrove and perennial podium winner , Steve Ashbrook , who appears to be winning the first monthly award …

C ) Broker stats from Jan thru July ; look out for the year’s full running commentary coming to you this pm . Zak and Ron lead the way ….

D ) Finally , and as we’ve said many times before , do please keep an eye on your upcoming PT’s . Lenders are writing less purchase business now and from next week it will definitely have the feel of a ‘’ Back To School / Mortgage Fire Sale starts here ‘’ q3 ….. lenders won’t want to be pricing products at sub 1% AND losing too much of their back books to you . The one exception to this might be the ever -comatosed Barclays . Sat at Malaga airport I was struck by the following snippet in the Sunday Times ! Barclays eh …the most bi-polar performer ever !!!

Have a good week folks …
